Quinten Kroes (admitted to the Bar in 1995) has been active as a lawyer in the telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) sectors since 1995, advising and litigating about matters of telecommunications, media and data protection law. He also has broad experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including IT and licensing agreements.
Quinten advises various providers of electronic communication networks in proceedings before the Dutch Authority Consumer & Market and in court, on issues like network access, price regulation and consumer protection. He has also advised telecommunication providers and radio broadcasters on the various frequency allocations that have taken place over the last years. He advises a broad range of companies on data protection, and has supported various companies who have been the subject of investigations by the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
Quinten’s reputation is recognised in legal directories like Chambers and Partners, where he has been listed as one of the leading practitioners on the Dutch market in TMT for many years.
Quinten has many legal publications to his name and currently chairs the editorial board of the Dutch media and communications law review Mediaforum. He is the author of the book E-Business Law of the European Union (Kluwer International), and contributes to the publication Telecommunicatierecht, Tekst & Commentaar (Kluwer). He teaches telecommunications law as a guest lecturer at the University of Amsterdam. Quinten is also a regular speaker at seminars and conferences. Before joining Brinkhof as a partner on 1 January 2011, he was counsel at Allen & Overy LLP.
