Chiefs in IP networking event on 11 May: Everything under control!

On 11 May, Dorien Verhulst will host a networking event to celebrate the launch of a new Dutch chapter of Chiefs in IP (ChIPs). ChIPs is a non-profit professional organization that advances and connects women in technology, law and policy.

The event will take place at Brinkhof’s offices, starting at 3 PM. Please feel welcome to join (register via chipsnl@brinkhof.com). Anthropologist and futurologist Roanne van Voorst will give a keynote about fear in extreme sports. How do climbers or BASE jumpers deal with fear, challenges and doubts? And what is an effective strategy for the fear that everyone experiences at different times in life?

Next, a panel of highly successful women will challenges they have faced or perhaps still find themselves in the middle of. Dorien Verhulst will enter into a conversation with Jacqueline Schaap, partner at Visser, Schaap en Krijger and upcoming (duo)dean in Amsterdam, Anouk Boon, corporate patent counsel & Head IP at Avantium, Marijn Kingma, partner at Höcker, Milica Antic, head of legal at Google Netherlands, Janneke Slöetjes, head of global public affairs at Vinted and Fatiya Munkaila, lawyer at Brinkhof (in Dutch). After the panel discussion, we continue the conversation over drinks on our roof terrace.

Chiefs in IP (ChIPs) is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 by several leading female IP lawyers in Silicon Valley. The network wants to advance women who work at the intersection of law, technology and (regulatory) policy and has grown to over 3,700 members worldwide. Membership of ChIPs, and participation in the network meeting, is open to anyone who subscribes to the mission of ChIPs. Thanks to the board of ChIPs, the network meeting in Amsterdam is spearheaded by Dorien Verhulst, partner at Brinkhof.

The event is organized in collaboration with The FIPE, the Dutch network for female IP experts. The FIPE aims to bring more women to the intellectual property stage and organizes networking events several times a year.
