Fatiya Munkaila (admitted to the Bar in August 2021) works in the areas of media law and information law.
Alongside her law bachelor’s from the University of Amsterdam, Fatiya pursued a Liberal Arts degree in literature and cultural studies from Amsterdam University College (summa cum laude). Fatiya completed two master’s degrees with distinction (cum laude) in European and Comparative Law at the Humboldt University in Berlin and in Intellectual Property and Information Law at King’s College London. She also obtained an LL.M. in Public International Law at the University of Amsterdam.
During her studies, Fatiya worked at a legal advice center for students. She also co-founded a non-profit organization dedicated to creating equal opportunities in Dutch tertiary education. Before joining Brinkhof in 2021, Fatiya completed a one-year traineeship in the in-house legal department of Google’s Amsterdam office. Fatiya is fluent in Dutch, English, and German.
