Richard Ebbink

Richard is a partner at Brinkhof who specialises primarily in conducting European patent litigation. As a lawyer, he primarily advocates the interests of international companies before the patent courts in The Hague and beyond. Richard has also gained international respect for his balanced coordination of parallel national proceedings in Europe and the US, as well as for his EPO oppositions. The area of law Richard has registered with the Netherlands Bar is intellectual property.

Richard is fluent in German, English, French, Italian and several other languages, which has proven to be a valuable asset in the growing international patent arena. His language skills will be even more advantageous with the introduction of the Unified Patent Court (UPC). Experience & ancillary activities
Richard is a member of the Advisory Board of EPLAW, the European Patent Lawyers Association, and has previously served as president of that organisation. He studied in Amsterdam and at Columbia University Law School in New York (LLM, 1983).
