Anke Strijbos
Personal assistant
Anke Strijbos (admitted to the Bar in 2011) specialises in media, copyright and information law, privacy and IT. Anke is quick, precise and pragmatic, and feels equally at home litigating a ground-breaking fundamental-rights case as advice practically on privacy compliance or negotiating an IT contract.
Anke advises broadcasters about media regulation, collective rights and digital piracy. She represents publishers in defamation and privacy litigation and advises them on copyright and contract law. She handles cases relating to digital media and internet, dealing with issues such as intermediary liability, notice & take down, provision of user data and the ‘right to be forgotten’.
Anke advises regularly in complex privacy-sensitive cases, such as projects related to big data and the use of personal data in the healthcare sector. Anke also has extensive experience in proceedings with regard to software copyright, especially in the context of the seizure of evidence. In the field of IT, Anke primarily focuses on drafting commercial contracts (licenses, SaaS, e-commerce).
Anke joined Brinkhof in 2015. Before that, she was a lawyer at SOLV. She was closely involved with the Clinic law incubator (www.clinic.nl) for several years, amongst others as chair of the board. Anke obtained a bachelor’s degree in law from Utrecht University and graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 2010 with a master’s degree in information law. Her master’s thesis concerned the application of database law to search engines.
