Eveline is a lawyer at Brinkhof who works in the field of intellectual property, with a focus on patent litigation before both the UPC and the Dutch courts.
Experience and ancillary activities
Eveline obtained both a Bachelor’s degree in Dutch Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence (cum laude) from Utrecht University. She obtained her Master’s degree in Information Law from the University of Amsterdam (cum laude). Eveline’s master’s thesis focused on standard essential patents (SEPs) and FRAND procedures at the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
Some of the cases Eveline has handled:
- Genevant and Arbutus v. Moderna regarding the COVID-19 vaccine before the Local Division The Hague of the UPC;
- Ballinno v. Kinexon & UEFA regarding Ballinno’s patent on automatic offside technology before the Local Division of the UPC in Hamburg, the Central Division in Paris, and the Court of Appeal;
- OPPO v. Panasonic regarding mobile telephony patents (4G/5G) before the Local Division of the UPC in Mannheim.
