Quinten Pilon is a lawyer at Brinkhof whose work encompasses data protection, telecommunications and regulated markets.

Experience & ancillary activities

Quinten graduated cum laude with a Master’s in Private Law from the University of Groningen in 2022. Prior to that, he completed a Master’s in IT law and specialised in IT Law and Dutch Law while studying for his Bachelor’s. Quinten has a strong affinity with the legal aspects of IT and innovation. During his studies, he served on the board of the Rechtswinkel Groningen legal advice centre and worked as a research assistant at the University of Groningen on research projects focusing on privacy and media law. Quinten was admitted to the Dutch bar in 2023.

Some of the cases Quinten Pilon has handled:

  • litigating against Dutch regulators under the General Data Protection Regulation and the Telecommunications Act;
  • advising on complex privacy and data protection law issues relating to the national and international transfer of personal data, cookies, data breaches, data subjects’ rights and cybersecurity;
  • advising on the application of European and Dutch telecoms legislation in relation to electronic communications networks and services, general terms and conditions, radio frequencies, and the Dutch Telecommunications Sector (Undesirable Control) Act;
  • advising on regulated markets, including the postal market;
  • advising on information law, specifically regarding the security of network and information systems, compliance with the Dutch Open Government Act, and statutory obligations to notify.
