Lucas Sweering

Lucas’ (admitted to the bar in 2019) practice consists of drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts in the field of IT, such as outsourcing, IT services and software license agreements. Lucas also provides advice on consumer law matters and agency and distribution agreements.

Lucas obtained his bachelor’s degree from Leiden University before graduating from the same university with a master’s degree in civil law. His thesis was on the possible restriction of the freedom of contract as a consequence of liquidation. During his studies, Lucas worked at a specialist real estate law firm in Amsterdam, where he discovered his special interest for the field of contracting. He also followed several extracurricular courses and lectures on the application of the blockchain. Prior to joining Brinkhof, Lucas worked as a photographer specialising in portrait photography.

Lucas is a member of the Dutch Association for Information Technology and Law (NVvIR).
