Leonie van Sloten (admitted to the Bar in 2016) litigates and advises in the field of information law and is particularly experienced in privacy and data protection law.

She has represented clients in court and during enforcement investigations by regulators such as the Dutch Data Protection Authority and the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets. In civil court, she has represented clients in litigation about their contractual data protection arrangements and on the scope of data subjects’ rights (right to access, right to rectification, right to erasure and the like).

Her advisory experience covers the full range of privacy and data protection law, including the rules and regulations on spam (unsolicited emails), cookies and marketing in both online and offline settings. She also has practical experience in developing and implementing GDPR-compliance programs, having supported clients in the finance and retail sector. Through a secondment to a large food retailer, Leonie also has obtained in-house experience.

Leonie is member of the Dutch Association of Privacy Law (VPR).

Prior to joining Brinkhof in October 2019 Leonie worked for 4 years at Kennedy Van der Laan in Amsterdam.
