Berber van der Wansem (admitted to the bar in 2017) mainly advises and litigates in the field of Dutch and European patent law. She has extensive experience litigating (international) patent disputes before the Dutch Courts concerning pharmaceutical and mechanical engineering inventions.

After completing her bachelor’s degree in law (with additional honours programme) at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, Berber obtained her masters’ degree in Information Law at the University of Amsterdam. During her studies, Berber spent a semester studying at McGill University in Montréal, Canada, and participated in the Price Media Law Moot Court at Oxford University. In 2016, Berber was an intern at Brinkhof, and subsequently wrote her masters’ thesis here.

Prior to joining Brinkhof in December 2022, Berber worked for Vondst Advocaten in Amsterdam.

Berber is also an active member of the AIPPI and Young EPLAW. As a committee member of AIPPI Young Members Committee, Berber organizes meetings for IP enthusiasts.
