COVID-19: Update Brinkhof remains fully operational and can be reached as normal

On March 15, 2020 the Dutch government proclaimed new, strict measures to fight the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus). From the start of this crisis, we have monitored and followed the various measures that were taken, and of course we will now be following the government’s guidelines. Our most important priorities are the health and well-being of our employees, clients and other contacts, as well as to ensure our ability to continue providing the highest quality of service to our clients.

In light of the most recent government guidance, we inform you that our employees are working remotely, and will continue to do so until further notice. We have put in place systems which will enable our firm to remain fully operational during this time. Our lawyers, trademark attorneys and staff will continue to provide, without interruption, the high quality of service to which our clients are accustomed.

The situation is changing daily, and we are closely monitoring the guidance and decisions of the World Health Organization, the Dutch government, and the European institutions. For now, we have been informed that, as of March 17, the Dutch Courts will not hold any hearings, unless the matter is so urgent it cannot await to be heard. The EPO and EUIPO have announced that, in response to the disruption caused by COVID-19, deadlines at the offices will be extended.
