Egbert Dommering

Egbert Dommering specialises in telecommunications, media and entertainment law. He advises and litigates on information law, competition law and regulated markets such as telecommunications, media and post.

Egbert is professor in the Theory of Information Law at the Institute for Information Law of the University of Amsterdam. Some of his recent publications include the collection ‘De jacht op Prometheus (The hunt for Prometheus) and ‘Gevangen in de waarneming (Trapped in observation), his farewell speech as Professor of Information law. He is the co-editor and major contributor to European Media Law, an in-depth commentary on all aspects of EU media law recently published by Kluwer Law International. He was also member of the Copyright Commission, which advises the Government and Parliament on copyright and neighbouring rights, and member of the Advisory Board of the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
